Loading supplies for delivery to the MESSAGE Warehouse. |
The entire Assumption Community has been supporting the MESSAGE Program from the very beginning, when we established an official drop-off site for the ROCORI communities here on campus.
Assumption Community residents help sort and pack school supplies for the children in Guatemala. The supplies are donated by local schools that students would have normally thrown away. We also collect unused medical supplies and equipment which is also sorted and boxed for shipment to the school children in Guatemala through the MESSAGE Program.
You can learn more about the MESSAGE Program by visiting their website, there you will also find a list of supplies that are so urgently needed. You can drop off school supplies or monetary donations at the Information Desk at Assumption Home anytime between 8:00 AM and 4:30 PM, Monday through Friday.
If you have overstock of medical supplies or used medical equipment that is still in working order, please call Jan Luthens at Assumption Campus, (320) 685-3693 for more information, or This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. .

Reasons for the Cold Spring Walk n' Wheel Loop were:
- The project created "a pathway to community wellness", by making the CSWWL a new focal point and rally cry for increased physical activity and wellness within the community.
- The project made the environment more supportive of physical activity, and enhance wellness opportunities by removing barriers to physical activity and access by the handicapped.
- The project enabled the entire community to support and promote local environmental education. By incorporating the Cold Spring Creek restoration as rest stops along the CSWWL.
- The project provided the ROCORI Trail the opportunity to access land that is adjacent to the ROCORI Middle School (ROCORI School District), the Cold Spring Senior Center and the Assumption Senior Campus.
- The Cold Spring Walk n' Wheel Loop was completed in the Summer of 2009 through the kind donations of ROCORI area residents, businesses and several grantees. (Review Grantor/Donor List)
