History - Cold Spring Area Historical Society

A group of Cold Spring community residents held their first meeting in November 2006 to discuss the possibility of forming an area historical society. During the first meeting held in November 2006, residents met at the Family Room of the Assumption Home. There was plenty of support for the idea and everyone agreed to proceed to the next level.

Jan Luthens, Administrator of Assumption Campus offered the services of their Independent Consultant (Tony Nathe) to help get the program get started.

Additional discussion centered around a possible name which was narrowed down to two choices, either the ROCORI Area Historical Society, or the Cold Spring Area Historical Society. During additional lengthy discussion, COLD SPRING AREA HISTORICAL SOCIETY (CSAHS) was decided as the overall favorite and approved by a majority of those in attendance.
