History - Cold Spring Area Historical Society

A group of Cold Spring area residents held their first meeting in November 2006 to discuss the possibility of forming an area historical society. During the first meeting, the group met in the Family Room of Assumption Home. There was plenty of support for the idea and everyone agreed to proceed to the next level. Jan Luthens, Administrator of Assumption Community offered the services of their Independent Consultant to help get this nonprofit organization started.

Additional discussion centered around a possible name which was narrowed down to either the ROCORI Area Historical Society, or the Cold Spring Area Historical Society. During the lengthy discussion, COLD SPRING AREA HISTORICAL SOCIETY (CSAHS) was decided as the overall favorite and approved by a majority of those in attendance.
