Home Delivered Meals

A Program to provide well-balanced, nutritious meals to the elderly in need of this service in the ROCORI communities (Cold Spring, Rockville, and Richmond, Minnesota).
Who May Participate?
~ Persons unable to prepare their own meals because of illness or disability.
~ Persons recently discharged from a hospital or nursing home.
~ Persons unable for other reasons to meet recommended nutritional standards.
How to Apply?
Applicants may apply directly, or physicians, family and friends may refer candidates to the Home Delivered Meals Coordinator at Assumption Home by calling Christa Pfannenstein at (320) 348-2321 or send an email to This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. Delivery Time:
Meals are delivered between 11:00 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. Monday through Friday, with the exception of holidays and in the event of the local schools being closed.
Cost:
The cost of the meal is approximately $6.00. The suggested donation amount for the participants is $4.50. Food Stamps are accepted.
Sponsor:
This program is made possible by a grant from the Central Minnesota Council on Aging through Older Americans Act Funds received from the Minnesota Board of Aging. Meals are planned and prepared at Assumption Home. Community volunteers deliver meals and serve as a daily contact with the person receiving the meal.
This program complies with Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964. Benefits of the program are for the use of all older persons regardless of race, color, sex, religion, disability or national origin. Persons under the age of 60 are asked to pay the full cost of the meal.
