What does it mean to be a Volunteer?
Volunteers give of their time and talents in order to benefit their community and those who live in it. Volunteers also help their communities by freeing up funding sources to be spent in other areas of need in order for the overall goal of an organization to be obtained. Some of the many great reasons to become a volunteer are:
- It increases one’s feelings of self worth, integrity, and helps to reduce personal stress,
- It allows people the indirect opportunity to sample career choices,
- Community service and volunteerism are an investment in our community and the people who live in it,
- It helps build communication and personal skills, and
- It provides a great opportunity to make new friends.
Volunteering at Assumption Community
Volunteers at Assumption Community get involved in a variety of ways. Some of the opportunities are:
- Helping with activities (like music programs, outings, and of course bingo!) at Assumption Home,
- Spending time with our residents and tenants as a visitor or companion,
- Driving seniors to medical appointments through Rural Stearns Faith in Action,
- Delivering meals to seniors who have difficulty leaving their home,
- And much, much more!
We'd love to have you visit our campus! Please consider volunteering some of your time to improve the lives of the seniors we serve here at Assumption Community.
